The 5 Cutest Animal Moms and Babies in Mutual of Omaha Wild Kingdom History
We’re celebrating all the moms across the globe. We’re even celebrating the moms with trunks! No matter how many legs moms have, they’re united in their love for their children, even the really hairy ones.
For more than 50 years, Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom traveled the world to study wild animals. Take a look back at some of our fuzziest babies and their fiercely protective moms in their natural habitats.
The Cutest Animal Moms and Babies from Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom
1. This elephant mom “trunk in trunk” with her calf
Just because your mom is 9 feet tall, doesn’t mean she doesn’t like to snuggle. We know elephant moms can have babies until they are 50 years old. No inside information yet on whether they like a call or a letter on Mother’s Day, though.
2. These brave cubs and their mom
When you’re next to a 280-pound predator, it’s easy to be brave. Or at least look it. This mom’s giving her little one a safe space to learn and grow. Soon she’ll be more than 200 pounds, too.
3. These young grebes catching a ride on their mom
4. This sassy owl and her owlets
This mom looks as fierce as her babies are fuzzy. Being able to rotate your neck 270 degrees must be a great way to make sure your kids are behaving. Although, I bet most kids think their moms “have eyes on the back of their heads.”
5. Our favorite cuddly meerkat mom and her growing pups
We all know meerkats can stand on their back legs. But did you also know they are good huggers? Well, this photo sure looks like it. No matter how old you get, there’s nothing better than a hug from your mom. This meerkat mom and her cubs are a reminder this Mother’s Day to call and thank our moms for all the hugs along the way.
